Brockville, ON – On Thursday, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville welcomed members of the public to their Annual General Meeting and OTF plaque ceremony to mark the three-year funding for the Skills Mentoring Program. Local MPP Steve Clark and Grant
Review Team member Rai King were on hand to congratulate the agency’s members and hear more about how the funding will support skills mentoring for children in the Leeds Grenville communities.

“Programs like this not only improve the lives of children across Leeds-Grenville today, they give these young people the opportunity for a brighter tomorrow,” said Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark. “That’s something we can all celebrate and I’m so pleased this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant will help the outstanding staff and volunteers at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville continue doing their great work in our community.”

The agency serves over 1,400 children annually through a variety of programs and services and thanks to the $150,000 three-year funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, more children of all abilities will be able to engage in educational and fun skills mentoring support.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” said Bobby Orr, President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville. “This grant will allow us to
continue to reach out to kids, especially in underserved areas that will benefit from a positive and supportive mentor in their lives.”
